SM-6 Extended Range Active Missile (ERAM) combines a modified AMRAAM active seeker onto the proven Raytheon Standard Missile airframe. SM-6 will provide an extended range anti-air warfare capability both over sea and over land. The SM-6 missiles use the Aerojet Rocketdyne produced Mk 72 first stage propulsion system. The Mk 72 incorporates a moveable nozzle thrust vector control (TVC) system. The Aerojet Rocketdyne Mk 104 DTRM provides second stage propulsion for the SM-6 missile. Aerojet Rocketdyne also produces the Mk 125 focused blast-fragmentation warhead that imparts greater velocity to warhead fragments in the direction of the target.
