Aerojet Rocketdyne provided all liquid propulsion for NASA’s space shuttle that was the flagship of human spaceflight for more than 30 years.
Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Space Shuttle Main Engine is the world’s most reliable rocket ever built and a cluster of three provided ascent propulsion for the vehicle.
The company’s Orbital Maneuvering System engines provided thrust for critical in-flight maneuvers including orbital insertion, rendezvous and deorbit.
Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Reaction Control System engines helped guide the orbiter to more than 30 dockings with the International Space Station, and the company’s Auxiliary Power Unit generators supported countdown and ascent milestones.
After 135 missions, the space shuttle created the foundation for our next steps in space.
