Poverty Point Tree Farm was purchased and created in the early 1980s by a prominent consulting forester with a vision of Lake Talquin serenity, great hunting and recreation opportunities, timber income by maximizing the growth potential of planted longleaf and loblolly pines, all while preserving natural wooded areas associated with several creeks bisecting the property.
